Cooper's 4 Month Stats and First Cold

We went to the doctor last Friday and he received 3 shots, and one oral immunization. He did pretty well, considering. He was 14 lbs 14 oz, 24.75 inches long. The doctor says he's in the 51st percentile and 48th percentile, respectively, which is much better and he should be caught up in size by age 2. She also said that he was doing very well developmentally and right on track with his movements and actions.

Now, he has a cold. I took him to the doctor yesterday, but she said to use nasal drops and the aspirator whenever necessary, elevate the head of his crib, and put a humidifier in his room. All he really wants to do is sleep. He even slept in the car yesterday! For those of you who don't know, he is a TERRIBLE CAR RIDER!!! He cried almost the entire ride, however short or long.... unless you are sitting by him. :-) We've bought a new toy that straps to the seat and I have the remote control to make it work, so pray that this helps. We really want to go to Kentucky on the mission trip in June, but it depends on him at this point.

Love My Puppy

Megan Dickey brought this over one day when Cooper was first born. The other day after a bath and total meltdown from having to get out of the tub, I laid him in his crib to watch his mobile and he latched onto the puppy. He laid there for 20 minutes, hanging on for dear life. It was too cute!

Muscle Man

Cooper is doing so well holding his head up. He almost rolled over the other day, though I think it may have been on accident, but it still counts in my book.

Again, he's the smiliest baby until the camera is turned on. Though he did smile in the happy baby pictures, but it was probably because he was trying to eat the camera. :-) We're not quite sure what he weighs. His next appointment is April 26, so I'll post his stats then.

Happy Baby

These pictures were just too cute not to share. I'm sure if this was an adult with spit strings hanging from his mouth, it wouldn't be quite as cute. :-) Cooper is a very happy baby. He sleeps throught the night, wakes up in a great mood, and is only fussy pre-dirty diaper or in the car. He's a terrible car rider. We are going to Cumberland Mountain Outreach this summer on a mission trip with the GCC middle school group, so that will be a loooooooooong drive.

I love his blue eyes! Hopefully they are here to stay!

Crazy Hair

CRAZY HAIR! Cooper is loosing a little hair on the sides, but has one solid thick strip of hair right down the middle of his head. Brad spent about 5 minutes trying to make it look like a mohawk. Doesn't he look thrilled that we took this picture? And how many chins does this child have? :-) We'll take the chubby baby over the teeny tiny baby in the NICU when we started this parenthood adventure. His eyes are staying blue, and his eyelashes practically touch his eyebrows and are very light in color. It's exciting to see him change right before your eyes!

Cooper loves holding his own paci, but his hands are his worst enemy (see first picture). He grabs it and pull it out, but can't quite figure out how to put it back in. Did I mention he's sleeping through the night???? For two weeks now! Last night he slept 9:30p to 6:30a, then went back to sleep after his bottle from 6:45a to 9:00a.

Playing Outside!

We finally got to play outside! It was a beautiful, sunny 65 degrees, so we loaded Cooper up his Jeep Stroller from Steve and Lacy and walked around the neighborhood. He loves being outside. Though he doesn't seem super happy in any pictures, he liked the walk. It's funny that as soon as I turn the camera on, his smile disappears and he stares off into space. Turn the camer off, and he's giggling, cooing, and smiling again! Frustrating child. :-)

Cooper really loves this orange monkey. He has one on his play gym and one on his carseat. He stares at it and talks to it. I think he's letting his aggressions out.

Hoosier Horse Fair

Brad in chaps? Oh yes, you are not hallucinating. Last Saturday was the Hoosier Horse Fair. Brad has joined the Illiana Rangers, a group of individuals involved in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Basically, you ride a horse in old western clothes and shoot balloons from your horse with a Colt 45 loaded with blanks. If you want more details, ask Brad. And please take the time to make fun of him, as Cooper and I have done! :-)

Cooper wore his "Future Farmer" John Deere shirt from Rob and Malinda Mann (no surprise there!). He also wore his John Deere socks, but they kept falling off so we just gave up. He had a great time looking around and seeing all the people. He has started reacting to animals, and was enamored by the horses that we saw.

This is Ben Butler, part of the Illiana Rangers Cowboy Mounted Shooters. Cooper got to go down into the arena before the show began and see the horses. Brad wanted to show him off to his new cowboy friends, and he stole the show for sure. Ben and his wife, Marcia (sp?) are great Christian people who have a passion for horses. It was a very fun day, even with a blow out diaper compliments of Cooper!
