First Motorcycle

So Andy Dickey got this miniature chopper a few weeks ago, and Cooper got to go for a ride tonight. Any time anything mechanical is in his presence, he thinks that he is entitled to sit on it. He makes loud noises while you are driving while his little fohawk flows in the breeze. It's really cute! Notice where his hands are... on the throttle. Lord help me when he's big enough to have a four wheeler. I am officially outnumbered by males.

Putnam County Fair, 2008

The Putnam County Fair was July 18-26, and boy did we have fun! Despite the fact that Brad worked nearly 5 days of 16 hour days due to the storms, we finally made it to the fair to see our friends and, of course, show Cooper what he has to look forward to! This is a picture of Cooper, Meredith Williams, and Joy and Dylan Archer.
Here is Cooper with Brandy (Noll) Ames and Brittany (Noll) Cooper. I wonder where Cooper got his name? Well, at least that's what Uncle Clint thinks!

Cooper and Janae Berry petting one of the cows in the beef barn.
Cooper and Grandpa Grable at the Producer's Tent.

Me, Berkley, Merdedith, and Cooper at the industrial tent. Don't the babies look so excited to be there?

Awwww..... young love! Someday they'll be toasting with champagne at their wedding, or so we talk about. They'll probably end up being great friends that fight like brother and sister.
Cooper loved this bag of popcorn that was as big as him. Too bad I didn't supervise very well, because he poked a hole in the top and it was pretty much stale by the time we got it back to Brad, who had just worked 28 hours straight. All he wanted was his baby, kettle korn, and legion burgers! Two out of three isn't bad.

Cooper enjoying whatever was in my cup.... he loves to chomp on tiny pieces of ice. They pretty much melt as soon as he puts them in his mouth, but he thinks he's hot stuff.

This is how we roll! He had his feet up like this the entire time he was in the stroller. He loves to go for walks and see all the people.
Cooper with Jerry and Kara Birt with their beef cow just before the auction. I had to take this one for Luke and Kacie, and Sterling of course!
Cooper was just captivated by whatever wer were watching at the time... he gave up and just decided to read his book with Grandma Kathy instead.

Cooper with Uncle Clint's camo hat.... too bad he didn't wear his camo shorts to match!

Brad after he participated in the CMS event at the fair on the first Saturday night. This is our horse, JR, who loves Cooper and tries to nuzzle him whenever he can get close enough.
The Fair was exhausting! I imagine at the 2009 fair, this will be Brad and I at the end after chasing after an 18 month old the entire week.

Toe Touch

Oh, how proud Brad would be if he only checked this blog and saw that I titled the picture toe touch. But I had to share.... this is the position we are in about 90% of the time now, which is very counterproductive! Below is a picture at my parent's house of Cooper sitting up at the table for the first time.... and of course, wearing his muscle shirt! He loves to show off his biceps, like his dad.

Look for new pics from the fair and a hilarious video I took of Cooper, coming soon!

Grandma's House

Cooper is having a blast at Grandma and Grandpa Lewis' this summer. He gets to go there three days a week! Akeena, their boxer, sniffs at Cooper but doesn't pay much attention unless he has food on his face. Then she'll lick it right off! Cooper just stares at her and seems to be amazed at this thing that crawls around on the floor with him and lays beside him. He also uses this walker at Grandma's, and before long he'll be all over the place in it! Nothing will be safe again. Hide the valuables!

Six Month Statistics

Cooper had his six month appointment yesterday, and is doing very well! He's 27 inches, which is 79% in length, and 17 lb 12 oz, which is 53% in weight. Hopefully he takes after Aunt Brooke... long and slender. He had two shots and didn't cry at all! He looked at me kind of funny and puckered up, but quickly got over it because something else caught his eye. Does this mean ADD I wonder? :-) He is easily distracted.

Developmentally, he is doing very well and actually on track now with other babies his age, despite his 7 week prematurity. He can't sit up on his own because his torso is so long his legs haven't quite caught up. Try telling him that. Laying down is no longer an option, and he gets very bored on his back. When he's on his belly, he rolls to his back, so we just try to use the bumbo and jumperoo until he can sit up on his own. No pics with this one, just mom rambling on about her baby! :-)
