Family Update!

Well, summer has basically flown by and we are getting ready to go on a well-needed family vacation next week. We are heading to Michigan City to see Cooper's real daddy in prison.... no, not really. We are staying in a suite at a Holiday Inn for a couple of nights and heading to the beach, outlet malls, lighthouses, parks, and maybe the zoo. We are really excited to go on our first family vacation. It's our first time away since last September when we went to St. Louis with the Newland's.

Next May 1-9 we will be traveling to Ireland to stay with the Bridgewaters. We are so excited, but not sure about traveling 24 hours straight (8 hr layover in JFK) with an 18 month old.... but we'll get through! My family is from Ireland, and it's a place I've always wanted to see, so we are very excited about our trip!

Cooper is going through an interesting period. Right now, on the days I'm off, he sleeps until 8am, which is great because I get a ton of stuff done before he's even awake... or I sleep until he wakes me up. :-) But then we have issues taking our naps throughout the day. Anyone else have these issues? Today he screamed his head off and cried what I call a big boy cry for 30 minutes straight and nothing would make him happy. So I put him in his crib, turned on his baby einstien music, and let him cry himself to sleep. It took 10 minutes, and he was out! Then slept for almost 2.5 hours. I don't know if it's more teeth (two on the bottom) or sleeping too late.

On a happier note, he's rolling all over the place. Nothing is safe anymore. He's close to sitting up, just a bit small but that's due in part to his 7 week early arrival. He's eating some table food and is addicted to puffs, a.k.a baby crack according to a friend of mine. :-) He's laughing and giggling, jumping like crazyin the bouncy seat (see attached video) and loves to take walks in his stroller. I'm looking forward to the new phases in his life though it's bitter sweet as my little cuddly baby constantly squirms out of my arms because he's so busy!

Brad is still working for Duke, and still participating in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. He has a big shoot tomorrow in Rushville, which Cooper and I will not be attending. Too hot and too far! I am still working as an independent consultant and loving it. I'm excited to see what else God has in store for me, hopefully it will be teaching online full time so I can also stay home full time. Best of both worlds! I have four prospects right now, so we appreciate your prayers as doors start to open.

That's all! Enjoy the video!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe you guys are going to Ireland next year! that's awesome!! The flights are hard, but definitely worth the trip. We've done it now with Sterling many times and you just have to remember that the flight is only temporary, even though at the time it feels like forever :) I was wondering if you could give me the Bridgewater's email b/c I have a book recommendation for them that I read about raising your kids in other cultures that I think they could really benefit from. Anyways, good post! Cooper is adorable as always!
